We care about creating positive impact because our family, friends and colleagues live in these communities. Social Procurement
As part of our ongoing commitment to Social Procurement, we believe that the decisions that we make have a significant impact on the economy, the environment and the community.
Social procurement helps to position procurers as more central to the story of value creation. At its best, social procurement stimulates supply chains to innovate and find new ways to deliver the social value that communities want while obtaining quality goods and services.
That social value could be reducing inequalities, creating job opportunities for under-represented groups, or reinvigorating marginalised communities – all by using money that would have been spent anyway.
There are lots of different ways to approach social procurement. Essentially, it comes down to engaging a diverse range of groups in the supply chain, such as Indigenous businesses, social enterprises, Australian Disability Enterprises, businesses who employ the disadvantaged, and more.
