Touch Projects is leading the project management for the Bogong Avenue Car Park Extension in Glen Waverley for the City of Monash. This $45 million project involves extending the existing multi-level car park and increasing its capacity from 522 to 1037 spaces over four additional levels.
Design management was a critical aspect of this state-ofthe-art facility, and Touch Projects work to ensure the design meets the City of Monash’s requirements and the project objectives.
The team has ensured that all design elements, including the electric vehicle charging stations, designated motorbike parking, 24-hour security, and access control, were incorporated into the final design.
As project manager, Helmi Som is responsible for managing the design, construction management, community engagement, and community benefit aspects of the project.
In addition, Helmi is also responsible for managing the project’s budget and scheduling. This will involve monitoring the project’s progress, identifying potential risks and issues, and implementing strategies to mitigate them.
Stakeholder management is crucial, and Helmi is ensuring that all stakeholders are engaged throughout the project’s lifecycle. The team is working closely with the City of Monash and Katz Architecture to ensure that all stakeholders’ needs are met, including local businesses, residents, and visitors.
The construction management process ensures that it is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality. Also ensuring that all safety regulations and guidelines are adhered to throughout the construction phase.
This project will bring significant community benefits, including much-needed parking for the growing number of visitors to the area.
