…what we did on this project

Bob Bocevski, as Delivery Manager, successfully led the Moorooduc Highway 100km/h Section project, demonstrating exceptional technical expertise and strong project governance skills. His responsibilities encompassed site assessment, cost analysis, risk management, contractor and stakeholder management, as well as ensuring a safe delivery and successful handover of the asset to the Department of Transport (DoT). The project involved several critical tasks, including the installation of flexible “W” beam safety barriers, wire rope safety barriers, and cushion Raptors around power poles. Additionally, shoulder and lane widening, power pole relocation, and the installation of maintenance breaks were undertaken to enhance road safety and functionality.

The project also presented unique challenges, with the need to address cultural heritage and environmental considerations. To comply with regulations, Bob oversaw the implementation of a Cultural Heritage Management Plan (CHMP) and conducted a European Heritage study. The project area fell within the Frankston Council Local Government Area (LGA) and required close coordination with Aboriginal Victoria, local greens groups, and wildlife organizations.

The Moorooduc Highway 100km/h Section project faced complexities due to its location in a built-up area with a commercial and hospital precinct, residential zones, and heavy traffic congestion. Underground services such as gas mains, Telstra infrastructure, and water mains further added to the project’s technical challenges. Additionally, concerns regarding flora and fauna raised by local activist groups resulted in delays from the original delivery schedule.

Bob’s meticulous approach to project management and stakeholder engagement played a crucial role in addressing these challenges. Through effective communication, collaboration, and proactive risk management, he successfully navigated stakeholder disruptions and ensured the project’s smooth progression. His expertise in managing technical complexities and coordinating various stakeholders allowed for the safe and successful completion of the Moorooduc Highway 100km/h Section project.

The improvements made to the highway, including the installation of safety barriers, lane widening, and power pole relocation, will enhance road safety, alleviate traffic congestion, and improve overall infrastructure in the area. Bob’s leadership and commitment to technical excellence have contributed to the successful delivery of this important infrastructure project.
