…what we did on this project

Bob Bocevski, as Delivery Manager, successfully led the Moorooduc Highway 100km/h Section project, showcasing exceptional technical expertise and strong project governance. His role encompassed comprehensive site assessment, meticulous cost analysis, proactive risk management, efficient contractor and stakeholder management, and ensuring a safe delivery, culminating in the successful handover of the asset to the Department of Transport (DoT).

The project itself was multifaceted, involving critical tasks such as the installation of flexible “W” beam safety barriers, wire rope safety barriers, cushion Raptors around power poles, and the widening of shoulders and lanes. Additionally, significant efforts were made towards power pole relocation and the installation of maintenance breaks to elevate road safety standards and optimize functionality.

However, this project was not without its unique challenges. Cultural heritage and environmental considerations demanded thorough attention, leading to the implementation of a Cultural Heritage Management Plan (CHMP) and a comprehensive European Heritage study. These initiatives were essential for regulatory compliance and ensuring minimal impact on the surrounding ecosystem.

Moreover, the project’s location within a densely populated area with a mix of commercial, residential, and hospital precincts, coupled with heavy traffic congestion, posed additional complexities. Managing underground services, including gas mains, Telstra infrastructure, and water mains, added to the technical challenges.

Despite facing delays, Bob’s adept management skills, effective stakeholder engagement strategies, and proactive risk mitigation measures ensured the project’s smooth progression and successful completion.
