…what we did on this project

In the role of Delivery Manager, Bob Bocevski was responsible for overseeing the Thompson Road East project in Cranbourne. With a project value of $1.9 million, the main focus was on developing and designing safety measures for implementation. The project involved installing flexible “W” beam safety barriers on the left side of the roadway, wire rope safety barriers on the centre median, and cushion Raptors around power poles.

The project presented several challenges due to the built-up area with shopping precincts, residential areas, and heavy traffic congestion caused by multiple intersections and movements. In addition, underground services such as gas mains, Telstra lines, and water mains further complicated the build process.

To ensure safe delivery, a comprehensive site assessment and analysis were conducted, followed by a thorough risk assessment. Bob Bocevski and his team developed strategies to effectively manage and mitigate potential risks throughout the project’s lifecycle. This included implementing appropriate safety measures to protect workers, pedestrians, and motorists.

Effective project governance was essential in maintaining oversight and control over the project’s progress. Bob Bocevski ensured that all project activities adhered to the defined scope, timeline, and budget. Regular communication and coordination with stakeholders, including the Department of Transport (DoT), were crucial for seamless project execution.

As the project neared completion, the Delivery Manager oversaw the handover of the asset back to the DoT. This involved ensuring that all necessary documentation, certifications, and permits were in order and that the completed project met the required standards and specifications.

Throughout the project, Bob Bocevski’s focus on technical expertise, project governance, and diligent risk management contributed to the successful delivery of the Thompson Road East project. The collaboration with various stakeholders, adherence to safety protocols, and attention to detail ensured a safe and efficient road infrastructure for the Cranbourne community.
